Ushuaia, Argentina

Michel, never one to rest and reflect on his last accomplishment of flying across the entire continent of Antarctica, departed Marambia at 1400 UTC and flew the “short” leg from Marambio, Antarctica to Ushuaia, Argentina.

The decision to do this was made quickly. Winds and weather in both areas were increasing and forecast to get worse. So it was leave immediately, or wait for several more days for a good weather window.

After departing Marambia, Michel arrived 4 hours later (1200 km) at the Ushuaia Airport where he can now rest for several days.

Hopefully he will have enough time while there to write about his epic flight across Antarctica.

Very good decision. I supposed that, when i studied the WX. Ushuaia is a nice town with much more infrastructure which Michel needs now. I was there a few years ago. Eager to hear what you’re reporting about your last 5 days Michel! Take care!

It looks like Michel decided to go out for a “walk” and decided to cross to Ushuaia. What an accomplishment!!! This crossing alone is a huge thing in my modest opinion. Imagine what is the significance for me of the already flown legs of this epic journey.
After 21 hours flying over the ice, can somebody explain me how come he has been able to fly that time over white ice without spatial disorientation? I’ll wait for Michel’s explanation. Can’t wait I mean.

I would be very interested to see Michel’s flight path as i know there was a lot of effort into getting the approval to fly to the White continent.
Hopefully he is well rested after the crazy turbulence!!!

Buena vuelta a casa
