Tasmania

Tasmania

At 23:48 UTC Michel said goodbye to Mildura, Australia and is now en-route to to the island of Tasmania. After flying almost 700 miles, he will land at the southern Tasmanian city of Hobart. This is important as it is the last stop before the Sky Polaris flight makes the jump over the Tasmanian Sea and Southern Ocean to Antarctica.

I know it is a shame that Michel could not spend more time in Australia. He really wanted to get his photo taken with a Kangaroo but never saw a single one the entire time he flew over the Island-continent of Australia.

This will be a very busy time for Michel to prepare for the crossing of the South Pole. He will be installing another Spidertracks system, an Emergency Locator Beacon, installing skis, fixing his radio, etc, etc. No time for rest!

Good luck from Cocos Michel on your next leg of your flight. Rug up and keep warm. I watch your progress with interest. Colin B
