Sky Polaris Arrives at Resolute, NU

As you can see by the tracking system, Michel has arrived at Resolute, Nunavut, Canada. Fuel is expected to be waiting for him there. We don’t know if there is internet, but hopefully Michel’s satellite phone will work. This is the last stop before crossing the earth’s North Pole, and flying under Polaris, the North Star for which the project is named!

The North Pole is a goal well within Michel’s reach now and is a checkpoint for the FAI record for long distance flights. It is also Michel’s personal achievement as there are only a handful of aircraft built by the pilot in his own garage that have flown over the North Pole. Polo Norte is not only an axis of the earth, but unlike the South Pole, it is in the middle of the Arctic Ocean. There is no landmark, no sign saying “Welcome to the the North Pole”, no buildings, just snow covered ice floes.  From there, everywhere is South. There is no time zone, no longitude just 90 degrees north lattitude, and in the summer (beginning March 20) it is always daylight. There are no humans, no polar bears, few birds, but it is always COLD.

It is hard to think about, but if Michel has to make an emergency landing there, rescue would be a long time in arriving if at all. How many of us would or could accomplish this? Michel’s skills and determination has made this possible and he is allowing all of us to share in this adventure.

A FLIGHT AROUND THE WORLD WITH YOUR NAME AS THE SPONSOR!
We would like to offer you a deal that you will never have for the rest of your life. Once Michel reaches the North Pole, he can “Fly around the World” with you as his sponsor. For only $100 Michel will make an orbit around the North Pole. You will receive a certificate showing your name as the sponsor, and the actual GPS readings as Michel flies around the world in your name. I must get this information to Michel as soon as possible, so please contact me, Don Pearsall, at [email protected] and I will arrange payment and transmit your information to Michel. This is a worthy cause and will help the Sky Polaris project pay for the enormous expenses of this flight.

Amazing Michel!!, WELL DONE. Now you have to only worry about the Polar Bears but taking into consideration you have survived the BY-POLAR one(the famous Eric Rios), you are not going to have any issues with the poor bears.
BIPOLAR
Alucinante Michel!! BIEN HECHO. Ahora solo tienes que preocuparte de los Osos Polares pero teniendo en cuenta que has sobrevivido al BIPOLAR(el famoso Eric Rios), no vas a tener ningún problema con los pobres osos.
