Polar Committee

Polar Committee

It is hard to keep going ahead.

Since the paperwork start last year 2014, we have followed all the steps dictated by the Spanish Polar Committee (CPE).

It seems now that the scientific part of the project was, -let us say, stopped by the responsible for coordination between Granada and the CPE.

The Technical CPE Secretary was telling us that he didn’t have received the signed project from Granada and we kept stating that we did send it.

So finally, the project has been sent straight to the Secretary and signed by the University of Granada.

Mr Catalan, the Secretary, told me that once he has received that document, we would work on the clearance even during his week stay at Alaska, for an Arctic meeting.

But since, we have had no news from him….and we know that he is back into Spain since last Sunday.

The Australian Polar Committee was kind to provide us the limit time to process the fuel shipping into antarctica from Hobart (Tasmania).

The limit time is November the 6th !

We requested that information from the CPE but it seems that it was not even asked to Australia.

There is a meeting of the CPE next November the 17th. But we have learned that the project is not listed in the agenda as a point to be studied .

So, what is happening? What is going on?

It is really painful to relay on people with plenty of time and the results are not clear at all.
